About The Position

Olsson is seeking a seasoned Professional Land Surveyor to join its team. The role uses surveying technology such as drones, GPS scanning, and Trimble tools. The PLS maintains client relationships, leads survey crew staff and drafting technicians, manages projects, trains and mentors staff, and ensures survey accuracy. The position also oversees project estimates and proposals and takes responsibility for the financial performance of assigned projects.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience performing and managing land surveys, including property and right-of-way determinations, boundary, ALTA, platting, land divisions, and topographic surveys.
• Professional Land Surveyor credential required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Trimble Business Center.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Foster and maintain strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction throughout the surveying process.
• Lead and supervise survey crew staff and drafting technicians, providing guidance and support.
• Manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
• Provide training and mentorship to staff.
• Prepare and take ownership of project estimates and job proposals.
• Manage the financial performance of assigned projects, supporting profitability and cost-effectiveness.
