About The Position

TAIT is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor with California field experience and a California PLS license. The role requires at least five years of construction staking experience, including work with buildings, structures, robotic equipment, and GPS equipment. The position provides substantial office support using CAD and Civil 3D while also performing field work as needed. It reports to the VP of Engineering.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in the survey-mapping field.
At least 5 years of construction staking experience, including buildings, structures, robotics, and GPS equipment.
California field experience.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Recent construction staking and boundary topographic survey experience.
Experience with Carlson Software and Leica Systems.
Proficiency with Trimble surveying equipment and software, specifically one-person robotic data collection.
Solid math skills and a team-player attitude.
Professional Land Surveyor license from the State of California.
Valid California driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Three years of journey-level experience with responsible charge on a survey project, including use, adjustment, and care of surveying instruments in both field-crew and office-processing work.
Proficiency with programs such as MS Office Suite, CADD packages (Civil 3D, Carlson, MicroSurvey, or other drafting software), and processing or adjustment software (Trimble Business Center, StarNet, etc.).
Three or more years of experience with Digital Terrain Models (DTM), GPS collection and processing, least-squares adjustment, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys.

Responsibilities

Provide office support using CAD and Civil 3D.
Perform field work as needed.
Support surveying work involving construction staking, boundary and topographic surveys, and surveying equipment.
Help teach others.
