About The Position

The Central Louisiana Human Services District (CLHSD) is hiring a Professional Counselor 3 or 4 for its Caring Choices Clinic in Leesville. The position provides the full range of clinical services and participates in the treatment team’s decision-making, including formulating therapeutic activities. The counselor leads or facilitates counseling groups for people with substance use disorders and manages caseloads of clients diagnosed with substance abuse issues. The role may also conduct peer reviews to refine the quality and level of outpatient substance use services. CLHSD’s mission is to increase public awareness of behavioral health and developmental disability needs and provide access to integrated, community-based services. Its approach promotes wellness, recovery, and independence through education and community resources, and supports comprehensive, integrated, person-centered care. This position is a probational appointment and may be filled at the Professional Counselor 3 or Professional Counselor 4 level. Starting rates are $21.46 per hour for Professional Counselor 3 and $22.96 per hour for Professional Counselor 4. The posting also states eligibility for premium pay of one dollar ($2.00) per hour for hours worked.

Requirements

Possess a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT).
Have two years of licensed counseling experience.
