About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position to teach the course "Éthique et déontologie des avocat(e)s" (DRC4567 Section AA00) during the 2027 Winter Semester in the Civil Law Section of the Faculty of Law. The course covers general questions concerning ethics, the specificities of the ethical role of lawyers, and the duties towards clients, the administration of justice, and the profession as imposed by codes of ethics and jurisprudence. This is a lecture-based course with an expected enrollment of 80 students and 3 credits. The course will be taught in French and is scheduled for Wednesdays from 19:00 to 22:00. The position is considered irregular.

Requirements

  • General questions concerning ethics.
  • Particularities of the ethical role of lawyers.
  • Duties (towards the client, the administration of justice, the profession) imposed by the codes of ethics and jurisprudence.
  • Lecture-based course format.
  • Instruction in French.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
