About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor in the Civil Law Section for the 2027 Winter Semester, teaching the course "Compétences des juristes III : Introduction au règlement des différends" (Course Code: DRC3500 Section: GG00). The course covers a mediation seminar (methodology, active participation, exercises), a pleading seminar (methodology, brief drafting, plea presentation), and legal practice and ethics (duties towards the public, clients, justice administration, profession). It also focuses on interpersonal skills in consultation and representation (listening, effective communication, managing emotions, collaboration) and ethical issues related to information and communication technologies in law practice. Requirements

  • Proficiency in teaching mediation seminar content: methodology, active participation in mediation seminar work, mediation exercises.
  • Proficiency in teaching pleading seminar content: methodology, drafting a brief, presentation of a plea.
  • Proficiency in teaching legal practice and ethics: duties of the legal practitioner towards the public, their client, the administration of justice, and the profession.
  • Proficiency in teaching interpersonal skills for consultation and representation: listening skills, effective communication, legal practice and emotions, collaboration with other professionals.
  • Proficiency in teaching ethical and deontological issues arising from the use of information and communication technologies in legal practice.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
  • Passive competence in a second language (English, as instruction is in French).
