About The Position

The Civil Law Section of the Faculty of Law is seeking to recruit part-time professors who are distinguished by their expertise and play a leading role in the legal profession. This course, Ordre juridique autochtone et droit international (Indigenous Legal Order and International Law), is an introduction to international law, with a study of Indigenous legal traditions in this domain, including alliances, treaties, and protocols.

Requirements

  • Hold an LL.L. or LL.B. (or equivalent).
  • Be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec, the bar of another province, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
  • Have significant and relevant experience in the field covered by this course and/or hold a graduate degree in this field and/or have contributed to research through academic publications demonstrating recognized expertise in this field.
  • Be a regular part-time professor.

Nice To Haves

  • University teaching experience in a law faculty is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course Ordre juridique autochtone et droit international (DCC1704 Section A00).
  • Provide instruction in French.
  • Conduct the course on Thursdays from 18:00 to 21:00 virtually.
