This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course DVM 4550: Économie sociale et développement local dans les pays en voie de développement (Social Economy and Local Development in Developing Countries). This course is worth 3 credits and will be taught in French. The course focuses on studying local development and social economy initiatives in developing countries, covering job creation, micro-credit, and social services, through the lens of policies and practices of international development agencies and NGOs. It is a seminar-based course with a prerequisite of 54 university credits, including DVM 2506. The course will be delivered in person during the Winter 2027 semester on Tuesdays from 11:30 AM to 12:50 PM and Fridays from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM. The expected enrollment is 36 students. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates are applicable until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactive pay provided after ratification.
