About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course FEM2504B, "Genre, (in)capacités et santé", during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Social Sciences, within the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies. The course will be taught in person and will explore feminist perspectives and critical analyses of gender, (in)capacities, and health, with potential themes including the social construction of health and the healthy body, reproduction, health and social institutions, and gendered sociopolitical dynamics in the Canadian healthcare system. The course is scheduled for Mondays from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The expected enrollment is 124 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025 rates, excluding vacation and statutory pay, subject to ratification of a new collective agreement).

Requirements

Doctorate preferred.
University teaching experience at the undergraduate level (full responsibility for a university course).
Works and/or publications in the field of gender and gender issues, disabilities, and health (as areas of knowledge as well as professions).

Nice To Haves

Competence in a second language (passive).
