About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach FLS 3581 G00, an oral and written production course in French as a second language, associated with POL 2556 A00. The course is designed for non-francophone students aiming to develop their second language oral and written production skills and gain confidence in expressing ideas and writing assignments in French. While exam responses in the discipline course (POL 2556) can be in English or French, responses in the language course must be in French only. The professor will teach the language course and also follow the discipline course (POL 2556). The discipline course is delivered virtually, while the language course is in-person.

Requirements

Master's degree in French as a Second Language didactics or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language.
Two years of experience teaching French as a Second Language at the university level, or equivalent.
Familiarity with software and technology relevant to teaching French as a Second Language courses.
Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by the CV.
Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the degree requirement.

Responsibilities

Teach FLS 3581 G00, an oral and written production course in French as a second language.
Develop students' second language oral and written production skills.
Provide students with the confidence to express ideas and write assignments in French.
Follow the discipline course, POL 2556 A00.
Ensure responses in the language course are submitted in French only.
