About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach FLS 2581 U00, an oral and written comprehension course in French as a second language, associated with BIO 1541 A00. The course is designed for non-francophone students to develop their second language comprehension skills (listening and reading) and to help them assimilate the subject matter of the discipline. Students can answer exam questions in English or French in the discipline course, but only in French in the language course. In addition to teaching the language course, the FLS professor must also follow the discipline course, BIO 1541 A00, which is held in person on Tuesdays from 11:30 AM to 12:50 PM and Fridays from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM. The course is scheduled for Fridays from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM and will be delivered in person.

Requirements

Master's degree in Didactics of French as a Second Language or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language.
Two years of experience teaching French as a Second Language at the university level, or equivalent.
Familiarity with software and technology relevant to teaching French as a Second Language courses.
Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by the CV.
Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

Teach FLS 2581 U00, an oral and written comprehension course in French as a second language.
Develop students' second language comprehension skills (listening and reading).
Assist students in assimilating the subject matter of the associated discipline course (BIO 1541).
Follow the discipline course: BIO 1541 A00.
