About The Position

The Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section, is seeking to recruit part-time professors who are distinguished by their expertise and play a leading role in the legal profession. This posting is for DRC3501/4796, DROIT INTERNATIONAL PRIVÉ (Private International Law), a 3-credit course for the 2027 Winter Semester. The course focuses on methods for resolving conflicts of laws, determining international jurisdiction and applicable law in private international law matters (general and specific rules), and the conditions for recognition and enforcement of foreign decisions. The expected enrollment is 80 students. The instruction language is French, with passive competence in a second language required. The course schedule is Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The position is classified as 'Irrégulier / Irregular' and 'Présentiel' (On-site).

Requirements

Hold an LL.L. or LL.B. (or equivalent).
Be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec, the bar of another province, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
Have significant and relevant experience in the field covered by this course and/or hold a graduate degree in this field and/or have contributed to research through academic publications demonstrating recognized expertise in this field.
