About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the CMN3503-C00 course, "Méthodes qualitatives" (Qualitative Methods), during the 2027 Winter Semester in the Department of Communication at the Faculty of Arts. The course is an introduction to communication ethnography and qualitative methods for analyzing communication phenomena, including direct observation, case studies, and focus groups, with an emphasis on applying these methodologies. The course will be offered in person and is scheduled for Tuesdays from 17:30 to 19:00 and Wednesdays from 11:30 to 13:00. The expected enrollment is 60 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates are applicable until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid thereafter. Requirements

  • Hold a doctorate or master's degree in communication (preferred) or a related discipline.
  • Have excellent knowledge of qualitative research methods applied to communication studies.
  • Be proficient in French (language of instruction).
