About The Position

This course, SIG et la Terre numérique (GEG2720-A00), is part of the Winter 2027 semester for the Faculty of Arts, Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics. The course will introduce students to the creation, analysis, and visualization of geo-located data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. Students will learn to encode, manipulate, and store digital geospatial data, create dynamic maps with satellite imagery and machine learning, understand global navigation satellite systems like GPS, and utilize ecological and population-based data in spatial analyses. The goal is to equip students with theoretical concepts and practical skills in geographic information science, which are in high demand.

Requirements

  • M.A. or M.Sc. in geography or equivalent.
  • Experience in GIS.
  • Teaching experience.
  • An acceptable level of education/experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
