About The Position

The Civil Law Section seeks to recruit part-time professors who are leaders in the legal profession. For this course, an LL.B, J.D, or equivalent is required. The selected candidate must also have significant experience in legal foundations, particularly in common law. Previous teaching experience in this area is an asset. The Civil Law Section reserves the right to select a candidate who does not fully meet the advertised criteria if their selection would be in the best interest of the program, the course, the students, or for any other related justification.

Requirements

  • LL.B, J.D, or equivalent degree.
  • Significant experience in legal foundations, particularly common law.
  • Ability to teach in French.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience in legal foundations, particularly common law.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course "Droit, histoire et société" (DRC1503) for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Provide instruction in French.
  • Potentially complete mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
