About The Position

The Production Worker prepares finished products for shipment by installing the hardware specified on build cards, applying product labels, and packaging items for shipment. The role also cleans and prepares fabricated products after welding and before they enter the paint booth. Products are moved between work areas and to shipping using forklifts or a crane as needed. The position works Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with a wage of $18.00 per hour plus a $1.00-per-hour shift differential.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Background in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly; frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may have high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease, and may be hot, cold, or humid.

Responsibilities

• Unload fabricated products from paint carts.
• Install hardware specified on build cards, such as handles, locks, and wheels.
• Apply stickers squarely and neatly.
• Box, wrap, and band products to the proper skid.
• Build custom features as required.
• Move products to the shipping area.
• Use forklifts to move parts as needed.
• Move completed welded parts from the welding area to the cleaning area.
• Load fabricated products onto paint carts.
• Inspect completed work pieces for defects, including deformed edges and marred surfaces, and report defective pieces to the Team Leader.
• Prepare products for painting by grinding and scraping defects from units.
• Wipe down products with cleaning solution in preparation for painting.
• Move cleaned products to the paint staging area.
• Use a crane or forklifts to move parts as needed.
• Maintain proper housekeeping of the work area before, during, and after the shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
