Production Technician Co Op
About The Position
Compass Systems is seeking motivated students interested in participating in our Production Technician Co-Op Program. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn about manufacturing, assembly, electronics, and production operations while working alongside experienced technicians and manufacturing professionals. Students will receive on-the-job training and gain practical experience using tools, equipment, processes, and documentation commonly used in a manufacturing environment. This position requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with engineering and production teams to support a variety of technical projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in hands-on work, and brings a positive attitude to a production team environment.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in high school and eligible to participate in a school co-op program.
- Interested in manufacturing, engineering, electronics, skilled trades, or technology.
- Dependable and willing to learn.
- Comfortable working with their hands and learning how to use tools.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Detail-oriented and committed to producing quality work.
- Able to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
- Safety-conscious and willing to follow all workplace safety requirements.
- Professional, respectful, and eager to gain real-world work experience.
- Able to obtain and maintain any required Pennsylvania working papers, employment certificates, or other documentation required for employment.
Responsibilities
- Perform assembly of electronic and mechanical components according to technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Operate production equipment and tools used in manufacturing processes.
- Conduct testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of assemblies and systems.
- Support prototype builds and engineering development projects.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with engineering and production staff to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
