About The Position

The Production Supervisor responds to and creates solutions for mechanical, personnel, or quality problems to support a continuous and steady flow of metal through the plant. The role directs daily workforce activities and works with employees and other departments to meet production schedules, maintain quality, and sustain plant operations.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent; the posting also lists a B.S. in Business/Management or an Engineering field.
• 2–4 years of related experience using leadership skills in a high-production supervisory environment; industrial experience, preferably in a metal rolling or slitting manufacturing facility.
• Good organizational skills, effective oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and efficient presentation skills.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and shift work as required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to take initiative, demonstrate leadership, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction for the workforce’s daily activities.
• Maintain a safe work environment free of harassment, adhering to 5S standards and all safety procedures.
• Coach and counsel employees on standard operating practices and best practices to improve performance.
• Coordinate and evaluate training for new employees in their job requirements.
• Monitor product quality to ensure customer specifications are met or exceeded.
• Work with other departments to ensure the production schedule is met.
• Coordinate necessary repairs with the maintenance department to maintain operations.
• Schedule work as necessary to meet the production schedule.
• Implement the Labor Agreement, corporate policies, and good housekeeping standards.
