The Production Supervisor I supports day to day operations in an assigned manufacturing area such as Metal Fabrication, Assembly, or Test. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, maintaining quality standards, and executing the production schedule as directed. The Supervisor I leads a small team and focuses on shift level coordination, basic problem solving, and adherence to established processes.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years in manufacturing; prior lead or team coordination experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to follow standard work; basic proficiency with MS Office.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • BA or BS degree in Operations Management or similar
  • Previous supervisory experience within an aerospace or electronics manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with web-based software

Responsibilities

  • Monitor team activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and support a culture of safe work practices.
  • Execute the daily production plan by assigning tasks, confirming material availability, and ensuring work instructions are followed.
  • Observe work in progress and escalate quality issues through the non‑conforming materials process.
  • Use basic lean tools (5S, standard work) to maintain workstation organization and process consistency.
  • Communicate daily priorities and shift expectations to employees.
  • Provide feedback to managers regarding resource needs, overtime, and schedule constraints.
  • Support daily performance metric tracking and communicate status to the Value Stream Manager or Supervisor II.
  • Participate in basic problem-solving activities using tools such as 5 Why or fishbone diagrams.
  • Contribute to employee onboarding and provide coaching on procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
