About The Position

Rio Tinto is seeking a Production Supervisor Fusing to lead and develop a high-performing team, foster a strong safety culture, and build team capabilities. The role supports the manufacturing process that supplies global customers with high-quality borate materials and offers opportunities to develop leadership, project management, and business improvement skills.

The supervisor oversees operating employees and equipment deployment to meet production and safety standards in the designated area. The role coordinates daily production, sets team priorities, works with other supervisors and departments, addresses issues using established practices and policies, and facilitates lean and management system activities. The position reports to the Superintendent and is part of a diverse, collaborative team.

Requirements

• Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of supervisory experience in a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations.
• Experience in a unionized environment.
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and SAP.

Nice To Haves

• A more advanced degree than a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of refinery equipment, subsystems, lubrication properties, and equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operating employees and organize equipment deployment to meet production and safety standards within the designated area.
• Coordinate and supervise daily production activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Set team priorities to achieve task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors and departments.
• Address issues using established practices and precedents, with decisions guided by policies, procedures, and the business plan.
• Facilitate lean and management system activities within the team or designated area.
• Motivate, inspire, and support employees while maintaining their safety and well-being.
