The job summary entails providing leadership in the production areas of the shop, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of assigned jobs, coordinating job scheduling and manpower, supporting employee skill development and safety, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The salary range for this position is $68k-$78k.
Responsibilities
- Provide first line leadership in the production areas of the shop
- Direct the workforce to achieve the highest overall timeliness and quality of jobs in the production areas assigned
- Provide customer service and coordinate job scheduling and the necessary manpower to accomplish these jobs daily
- Provide leadership and support for employee skill development, cross-training, continuous improvement, and standardized work
- Direct the workforce in a way that always promotes employee safety
- Demonstrate superior leadership skills at all times
- Provide assigned manufacturing associates with the resources to accomplish their work accurately and safely
- Ensure work area is equipped with proper personal protective equipment, tools, machines, and supplies
- Ensure work instructions, production schedules, and other information is readily available for the employees
- Ensure company practices and policies are available, understood, and adhered to
- Directly supervise employee performance/behavior and facilitate assessment, feedback, and performance management
- Ensure safety and environmental compliance to practices and policies
- Assign and communicate work schedules to meet production schedules and targets
- Responsible for productivity and quality management within departmental control
- Recommend equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, and process modifications when necessary
- Work with support departments (HR, Safety, Quality, Production Scheduling, Engineering, Maintenance, etc.) to deliver a quality and timely product
- Proficient problem solver
- Lead/facilitate daily production meetings, lessons learned sessions, and daily Gemba walks
- Use Production boards to keep team members informed of department performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Use daily team meetings to update staff on company and policy updates
- Plan and create recovery plans when falling behind
- Plan for future growth
- Engage a fun element into daily work life
- Write accurate performance reviews and set realistic goals and objectives
- Participate in all Continuous Improvement activities
- Initiate, lead, and sustain 6S improvements throughout the factory to improve work areas and reduce waste
- Escalate issues to production managers and others as required
- Some knowledge in finish construction work such as flooring/tile, paint, and electrical/plumbing fixtures
- Ensure all ship-loose items are accounted for and safely secured for product delivery
- Some familiarity with HTML tags removed.

- Ability to plan and create recovery plans and anticipate future growth

- Participation in continuous improvement activities and implementation of 6S improvements
- Knowledge of finish construction work such as flooring/tile, paint, and electrical/plumbing fixtures
- Attention to detail in ensuring all ship-loose items are accounted for and secured for product delivery.

- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully hit daily/weekly/monthly goals and objectives in a metric-driven organization
- Outstanding judgment, organization, planning, initiative, flexibility, and creativity
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment
- Nice to have: Bachelor's degree, Six Sigma or Lean Certification, previous experience in modular home building, previous experience with Fieldwire field management software, bilingual in English/Spanish, previous experience in an ERP system
