About The Position

The Production Specialist role involves a variety of critical financial operations, including reconciliation of liabilities to assets, investment trading, pricing and performance analysis, cash management, dividend processing, check writing, and tax reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting systems and financial control applications, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex discrepancies. The specialist will also be involved in developing, testing, and implementing system enhancements and conducting special projects related to accounting methods and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent training.
  • 1 to 3 years of general Financial Control experience OR 1 to 2 years as a Financial Control Analyst I.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in mailroom operations, print operations, financial services, or a related operational environment preferred.
  • Experience working within regulated environments and adhering to compliance and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily share balance reconciliation between the recordkeeping system and the trust. Researches and resolves all discrepancies.
  • Places, confirms, and instructs for settlement of investment trades. Researches any trade discrepancies or unconfirmed trades. Reports on daily trade activity. Works with investment firms to initiate account opening and trading relationships.
  • Obtains pricing and performance information from investment firms and other contracted parties. Validates the accuracy of this data. Applies this information to the recordkeeping and ancillary systems by specified deadlines.
  • Performs daily cash reconciliations for demand deposit accounts (DDAs). Instructs trustees and custodians on money movements. Researches and resolves all discrepancies.
  • Acquires and posts all dividend transactions to the recordkeeping system by established timeframes. Researches and resolves all global dividend discrepancies.
  • Performs all activities necessary to complete the daily production of retirement plan checks, including processing payments, reconciling output, releasing checks, instructing on wire payments, and quality checking the output. Troubleshoots daily system issues and reconciliation items.
  • Performs Federal and State withholding, depositing, and reporting responsibilities. Performs reconciliations between the recordkeeping system and the tax reporting system. Identifies and resolves discrepancies. Identifies new tax legislation and its impact, communicating to impacted parties and producing/documenting enhancements. Serves as a resource for interpreting and communicating tax legislation.
  • Possesses and applies knowledge for the completion of moderately difficult to complex assignments.
  • Possesses broad knowledge of many accounting systems, may recommend changes to currently used systems to expedite problems. Develops, tests, documents, and implements enhancements.
  • Conducts studies which lead to development and/or recommendation of accounting methods and procedures. Handles various accounting projects on an as needed basis.
  • Assists and trains Analyst I positions on tasks and reconciling items.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
