Requirements

  • Associates degree, or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook software.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) and/or NAPM (National Association of Purchasing Management) certification is preferred.
  • Continued education is highly recommended.
  • Working knowledge of J.D. Edwards operating systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage daily production schedules (K2) based on material availability and capacity constraints.
  • Establish and communicate accurate lead times, with a focus on reducing backlog and improving delivery performance.
  • Release and manage production work orders in J.D. Edwards (JDE) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review work orders for BOM accuracy, material readiness, and capacity alignment; resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Aligns production schedules with demand forecasts and participates in SIOP or demand planning processes.
  • Escalate supply, capacity, or demand constraints that jeopardize delivery commitments.
  • Work with production leadership to maintain capacity plans, identify bottlenecks, and proactively adjust schedules to balance demand and available resources.
  • Accountable/Contributes to achieving KPIs including product lead times, on-time delivery, backlog reduction, and inventory performance.
  • Identify material shortages and collaborate with Purchasing to expedite critical components.
  • Monitor and manage inventory to minimize obsolete, excess, and slow-moving stock.
  • Support the disposition and conversion of returned products into saleable SKUs.
  • Perform quarterly inventory usage reviews and adjust reorder parameters to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
  • Plan and manage production requirements for epoxy-painted parts.
  • Plan, support, and coordinate finishing or secondary operations as part of the end-to-end production process.
  • Communicate daily with Customer Service and Commercial teams regarding lead times, delays, and production issues.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to ensure alignment and execution of production plans.
  • Participate in daily meetings (e.g., Supply Chain reviews, Gemba walks, end-of-shift planning) to provide insights on order trends and production priorities.
  • Help lead root cause analysis (RCCM) for schedule disruptions, material shortages, and execution gaps; implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update lead time data in customer-facing portals to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Utilize J.D. Edwards (JDE) and other systems to support planning, scheduling, and reporting activities.
  • Collect and analyze data to support key performance indicators and operational decision-making.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean initiatives.
  • Support 5S standards within the work area.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve service levels.
