About The Position

The Production Scheduler supports daily manufacturing schedule execution by verifying job readiness, open jobs, inventory availability, customer orders, and production status. This role maintains accurate schedule information in the ERP system, coordinates follow-up across production, customer service, materials, warehouse, shipping, and quality, and escalates constraints to the Master Planner. The Master Planner retains ownership of capacity planning, customer prioritization, material strategy, and major schedule decisions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing scheduling, production coordination, materials, warehouse, shipping, customer service, or operations administration.
  • ERP/MRP experience required
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and comfort working with ERP data, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Able to communicate effectively with planning, production, customer service, materials, warehouse, quality, and shipping.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Able to identify issues early, ask good questions, and escalate appropriately.
  • Basic understanding of work orders, BOMs, inventory, customer orders, and production schedules.

  • Plastics, packaging, injection molding, blow molding, or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review upcoming jobs to confirm work orders, quantities, due dates, routers, BOMs, and customer requirements are accurate and complete.
  • Verify required raw materials, packaging, labels, components, and inventory are available before jobs are released or run.
  • Maintain accurate schedule, open job, and job status information in the ERP system.
  • Identify missing information, shortages, order conflicts, or readiness risks and escalate to the Master Planner.
  • Review customer orders against current production schedules and available inventory.
  • Support ship date and promise date confirmation using Master Planner direction and established business rules.
  • Follow up on late or at-risk orders and coordinate with customer service, materials, warehouse, and shipping.
  • Assist with inventory discrepancies, missing transactions, and job closure issues that impact planning accuracy.
  • Track daily job starts, completions, delays, changeovers, and schedule adherence.
  • Gather job status updates from production supervisors and leads; communicate schedule changes to internal teams.
  • Prepare job readiness, shortage, and schedule status summaries for daily production meetings.
