This is an entry-level position in a union workforce. The Production Operator will gain knowledge of the facility and department, complete assigned tasks, and look for ways to improve processes and personal performance. Production employees may perform a variety of jobs, tasks, or duties as assigned. The role uses an 8-hour rotational or swing-shift schedule, with the ability to work any shift and overtime, including weekends and holidays, or different shifts as needed. The position involves operating, monitoring, and adjusting production and loadout equipment; handling product weighing, bagging, packing, labeling, storage, and sanitation; and using computer systems to record operational and safety-related data. Operators rotate through department positions, communicate with coworkers and management, and follow ADM’s safety, environmental compliance, and food-quality requirements. The role includes company-provided training in safety, food safety, quality, environmental practices, operations, and equipment. The work takes place in a typically non-air-conditioned production environment, indoors and outdoors, with exposure to seasonal heat and cold, dust and agricultural materials, odors, and potentially loud noise. Required protective clothing and personal protective equipment vary by task and may include uniforms, hardhats, earplugs, safety glasses, hair restraints, steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety harnesses, fall protection, and respirators. The position requires successful completion of a background check.
