About The Position

The Production Operator sets up, tears down, and operates machines according to established procedures and guidelines at Hy-Vee Beverage Mfg. The role supports beverage manufacturing operations by completing pre- and post-operation activities, helping ensure equipment starts properly, and consistently meeting production requirements and standards. Employees may be assigned to all production areas and assist with setup and cleanup. The work involves following safety, quality, and manufacturing practices while collaborating with the production team to meet quotas and goals. The position reports to the Production Supervisor and has daily contact with the facility leadership team. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment.
Ability to work alongside others on a production line as a team.
Reliable and punctual.
Flexible schedule and willingness to work until the job is complete.
Able to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
Ability to use logical thinking and solve problems.
Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force repeatedly and up to 40 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
Able to stand and walk for 8–10 hours per day.
Visual ability to see from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, including depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to climb, bend, lift, and work in areas of limited mobility.

Responsibilities

Set up, tear down, and operate machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
Perform necessary pre- and post-operational activities to ensure proper equipment startup.
Work in all areas of production as needed, including assisting with setup and cleanup.
Ensure production requirements and standards are met consistently.
Maintain a clean and safe work area; observe safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management.
Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals.
Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care; report machinery issues to management.
Assist management with procedures to ensure product quality and identify cost-cutting ideas.
Follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
Practice HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Follow written and verbal instructions.
