About The Position

The Production Operative produces packaging products to required quality and volume standards while ensuring machinery and production processes operate safely and efficiently. The role includes following production procedures, recording operational data, carrying out preventative maintenance, setting up and cleaning machinery, performing product changeovers, and contributing to quality and behavioral safety programs. The operative reports relevant issues to the Production Supervisor, works with colleagues and the supervisor, and performs additional duties as directed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Audiovisual capabilities of speech, vision, and hearing, including peripheral vision and color discrimination capabilities.

Nice To Haves

Strong mechanical aptitude is highly desirable.
Printing experience is preferred and recommended.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Operate relevant machinery in accordance with required safety standards, protecting the health and safety of themselves and others.
Produce products to specified quality standards and volumes.
Follow production processes in the operations manual or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Monitor and record appropriate data using company software and databases.
Undertake operator preventative maintenance as described in the operations manual or PM Schedule, or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Set up and clean machinery as appropriate.
Participate in behavioral safety activities and identify and report near misses.
Participate in the Quality program and maintain the highest possible quality standards.
Carry out product changeovers safely and effectively according to the production schedule.
Ensure the effective and efficient running of machinery and processes.
Adjust machinery and processes as outlined in the operations manual or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Report relevant details to the Production Supervisor.
Interact with colleagues and the Production Supervisor as appropriate to the job.
Carry out additional duties as directed by the Production Supervisor.
