About The Position

The Production Operative helps manufacture sustainable packaging products while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards. The role involves operating, setting up, cleaning, and adjusting machinery; following production processes and schedules; monitoring and recording production data; and completing operator preventative maintenance. The Production Operative also participates in behavioral safety and quality programs, reports near misses and relevant information to the Production Supervisor, and works with colleagues and the supervisor to meet job requirements. Additional duties may be assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Audiovisual capabilities of speech, vision, and hearing, including peripheral vision and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

• Strong mechanical aptitude is highly desirable.
• Printing experience is preferred and recommended.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Operate relevant machinery in accordance with health and safety standards, protecting the employee and others.
• Produce products to specified quality standards and volumes.
• Follow production processes in the operations manual or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Monitor and record appropriate data using company software and databases.
• Perform operator preventative maintenance as outlined in the operations manual or PM Schedule, or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Set up and clean machinery as appropriate.
• Participate in behavioral safety activities and identify and report near misses.
• Participate in the Quality program and maintain the highest possible quality standards.
• Carry out product changeovers safely and effectively according to the production schedule.
• Ensure machinery and processes run effectively and efficiently.
• Adjust machinery and processes in accordance with the operations manual or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Report relevant details to the Production Supervisor.
• Interact with colleagues and the Production Supervisor as appropriate to the job.
• Carry out additional duties as directed by the Production Supervisor.
