About The Position

The Production Operative helps manufacture packaging products while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards. The role involves operating and adjusting machinery, setting up and cleaning equipment, completing product changeovers, monitoring and recording production data, and carrying out preventative maintenance. The operative follows established procedures and instructions from the Production Supervisor, participates in safety and quality programs, and works with colleagues to support efficient production.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Audiovisual capabilities of speech, vision, and hearing, including peripheral vision and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

Strong mechanical aptitude is highly desirable.
Printing experience is preferred and recommended.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Operate relevant machinery safely and in accordance with health and safety standards.
Produce products to specified quality standards and volumes.
Follow production processes outlined in the operations manual or directed by the Production Supervisor.
Monitor and record appropriate data using company software and databases.
Perform operator preventative maintenance as outlined in the operations manual or PM Schedule, or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Set up and clean machinery as appropriate.
Participate in behavioral safety activities and identify and report near misses.
Participate in the Quality program and maintain high quality standards.
Carry out product changeovers safely and effectively according to the production schedule.
Ensure machinery and processes run effectively and efficiently.
Adjust machinery and processes in accordance with the operations manual or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Report relevant details to the Production Supervisor.
Interact with colleagues and the Production Supervisor as needed for the job.
Carry out additional duties as directed by the Production Supervisor.
