About The Position

Huhtamaki is a global provider of sustainable packaging solutions working toward making all packaging recyclable, reusable, or compostable. Production Operatives help produce packaging that supports the hygiene and safety of food and drink. The role involves operating and maintaining production machinery, meeting specified quality and volume standards, following production and safety procedures, and working with colleagues and the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Audiovisual capabilities of speech, vision, and hearing, including peripheral vision and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

Strong mechanical aptitude is highly desirable.
Printing experience is preferred and recommended.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Operate relevant machinery in accordance with required health and safety standards.
Produce products to specified quality standards and volumes.
Follow production processes outlined in the operations manual or directed by the Production Supervisor.
Monitor and record appropriate data using company software and databases.
Perform operator preventative maintenance as outlined in the operations manual or PM Schedule, or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Set up and clean machinery as appropriate.
Participate in behavioral safety activities and identify and report near misses.
Participate in the Quality program and maintain the highest possible quality standards.
Carry out product changeovers safely and effectively according to the production schedule.
Ensure machinery and processes run effectively and efficiently.
Adjust machinery and processes as outlined in the operations manual or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Report relevant details to the Production Supervisor.
Interact with colleagues and the Production Supervisor as required by the job.
Carry out additional duties as directed by the Production Supervisor.
