About The Position

The Production Manager serves as a critical operations leader within the Reconditioning Special Operations (RSO) team and is a primary on-the-ground resource at Inspection Centers, supporting ADESA Megasite integrations. The role oversees RSO teams and Carvana and ADESA associates during department setup and training, helping sites prepare their operating systems, tools, training resources, and equipment. The manager supports successful production launches and process implementation at new and existing Inspection Center facilities. The position requires travel 80% of the time and openness to relocation, ideally nationwide or at least regionally. When not traveling, the manager may support a site's operations by overseeing multiple reconditioning lines and managing facility performance against production, cost, and quality targets. The role requires 8 or more years of management experience in an automotive or lean manufacturing environment and leadership experience with teams of more than 50 associates. The work may involve physically demanding activity in vehicle-maintenance environments and variable schedules. Hiring is contingent on passing a background check. Requirements

Ability to travel 80% of the time.
Demonstrated strength in Reconditioning competencies, particularly communication, teamwork, and reasoning.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Ability to maintain high-volume, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience leading a team of more than 50 associates and a track record of developing employees.
Proven ability to solve urgent operational challenges through root cause analysis.
Excellent communication skills.
At least 8 years of management experience in an automotive or lean manufacturing environment.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record: no DUIs and no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years.
Openness to relocation, ideally nationwide and at minimum within one of the specified regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, or West Coast.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
At least 18 years of age.
Ability to work variable schedules as necessary.
Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently stretch, reach, walk, stoop, push, and/or pull in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, or exposed to vehicle-maintenance fumes or odors.
Ability to use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently; most lifting is from knee to shoulder height, with other lifting from various levels.
Ability to walk up to three miles each day.
Passing a complete background check is a condition of hiring.

Responsibilities

Manage RSO teams and Carvana and ADESA associates through site integration, including department setup and training on operating systems, tools, resources, and equipment.
Ensure local site teams have the tools and training needed to launch production and implement processes and procedures at new and existing Inspection Center facilities.
Project-manage key aspects of RSO team initiatives while on site.
Serve as a primary point of contact and resource for RSO team members on assignment.
Lead or support continuous improvement projects as needed.
When not traveling, support site operations by overseeing multiple reconditioning lines.
Identify bottlenecks affecting site throughput and efficiency, conduct root cause analysis, develop action plans, and support site execution.
Conduct site performance reviews with Senior Reconditioning leadership.
Manage a facility to achieve production, cost, and quality targets.
Perform other duties as assigned.
