About The Position

This role is for a Production Lead at GE Aerospace, a world-leading provider of jet engines, components, and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft. The Production Lead acts as the primary trainer for their team, ensuring necessary documentation and training are available to support operations and processes, and updating training materials for employee development and cross-training. They coordinate with coaches and planners on daily production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), communicate status to the team, and highlight areas required to meet daily goals. The Production Lead is the first responder to eAndon calls within their work cells and provides line coverage for absenteeism, vacation, and continuous improvement events. They coordinate work distribution throughout the cell with a focus on productivity and provide feedback to coaches on team and employee performance while maintaining high levels of professionalism. The role also involves supporting continuous improvement opportunities using the CDM process and problem-solving tools, daily updating of paperwork for shift KPIs, and monitoring daily check sheets for the work cell. Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • Must be able to read, follow and comprehend written work instructions, internal SMP procedures and Safety documents which may be technical in nature
  • 1-4 years circuit card manufacturing knowledge including through-hole, and surface mount as well as quality checks from AOI and X-ray
  • Ability to lift/move material up to 35 pounds
  • May be required to work with hazardous materials and chemicals
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to inspect the condition of CCA kit when received (OVP Process -Operator Verification Process)
  • Also perform self-verification of quality of work
  • Ability to hand place SMT part to the class requirements
  • Ability to learn and flex to other areas
  • Perform all soldering and Inspection activities using a 10X microscope
  • IPC-610 certified
  • Ability to determine & select proper soldering iron tip size
  • Ability to utilize desoldering equipment to include Hot Tweezers & Hot Air pencil
  • Able to determine component types and polarity & install correctly per Work Instruction
  • Ability to work in spreadsheets and documents utilizing window products

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate on-line documents, drawings, and instructions
  • Minimum of 6 years of industry or similarly related job experience
  • Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment
  • 5 years previous work in electronics

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary trainer for the team
  • Ensure that necessary documentation and training is available to the team to support operations and processes
  • Update training documentation for the team, to be used to for employee development planning and cross training
  • Coordinate with the coaches and planners on daily targets to production key performance indicators (KPI) and communicate the status to the team, highlighting areas required to win the day
  • First responder to eAndon calls with in the span of control (Work Cells)
  • Line coverage for absenteeism, vacation and CI events that pull resources
  • Coordinate work distribution throughout the cell with a focus on productivity
  • Provide coach with feedback on team and employee performance while maintaining high levels of professionalism
  • Support continuous improvement opportunities, by using the CDM process and problem-solving tools
  • Daily update of paperwork required to document the shift KPIs as required
  • Monitor daily check sheets (Pre and post shift) for the work cell
