About The Position

Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. The role is responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility. Work is based on a shift schedule and is performed in a warehouse setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. The position involves repetitive motions throughout the shift, as well as bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, lifting, grasping, and other hand manipulations. It also requires standing and walking for long periods and pushing carts weighing approximately 300 pounds. Requirements

• Ability to understand required training and written and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet the attendance schedule.
• Work may include weekends; overtime is required as needed.
• Ability to push carts weighing approximately 300 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout a shift, including bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, lifting, grasping, and other hand manipulations, and to stand and walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Stage and feed merchandise such as towels, napkins, tablecloths, and aprons onto the ironer to reduce wrinkling and tangling.
• Receive and fold merchandise from the ironer.
• Identify and segregate merchandise that does not meet specified quality standards, including items with rips, tears, holes, or stains.
• Verify merchandise quantities and bundle items accurately by type, placing bundles in the correct storage carts.
• Maneuver full and empty carts.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe best practices in production activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
