About The Position
The Iron Worker provides support for new and existing work within the business line. The role involves bolt-up assembly of structural components in a fabrication facility and may require working outside. The employee works under immediate supervision.
Requirements
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a one-year certificate from a college or technical school.
- Three or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mathematical skills and reasoning ability.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the job.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret instructions and documentation, and plan work activities.
- Visually inspect and receive material in all-weather conditions.
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Compare differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
- Select equipment and determine layout for assembly and installation.
- Lay out, position, align, and fit components together for installation.
- Work under immediate supervision.
