About The Position

Provides support for new and existing work within the business line. The Iron Worker performs bolt-up assembly for structural components in a fabrication facility and may be required to work outside. The role works under immediate supervision and requires the ability to interpret plans and drawings, inspect materials in all-weather conditions, and handle the physical demands of the job.

Requirements

• Education and/or experience equivalent to a one-year certificate from a college or technical school.
• At least 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mathematical skills and reasoning ability.
• Ability to handle the physical demands of the job.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret instructions and documentation, and plan work activities.
• Visually inspect and receive material in all-weather conditions.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings, and compare differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
• Select equipment and determine the layout for assembly and installation.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together for installation.
