About The Position
The Iron Worker fabricates new pieces and uses those fabrications to build the final product. The role includes steel fabrication and construction work, building repairs, and rebuilding, bricking, and plumbing of electrical furnaces. The employee must wear required safety equipment and follow applicable procedures and instructions. The position is based at Harrison Steel in Attica, Indiana.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, plus one to three years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
- On-the-job training.
- Blueprint-reading ability.
- Mobile crane operation safety course, including proper rigging procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Welder's Certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate steel and perform work involving wood, construction, pouring concrete, setting forms, and finishing.
- Repair buildings, including roofing, siding, sloshing, overhead doors, man doors, and windows.
- Rebuild, brick, and plumb electrical furnaces.
- Wear required safety equipment and follow applicable procedures and instructions.
