About The Position

The Production Helper assists workers in the fabrication of structural metal products, supporting assigned duties as needed. The role uses trade skills to help build projects in the commercial building, bridge, and industrial sectors. Requirements

High school diploma or GED, and/or 12 months of experience.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram-form instructions using common-sense understanding and to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

Lift, position, and remove workpieces from machines to assist with fitting and welding.
Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck.
Clean and scrape metal in preparation for fabrication, welding, painting, or shipping.
Pick up and transport scrap from work areas.
Clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment.
Perform other routine duties and assist fellow employees as directed.
Pass the tacking test in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
Follow all safety rules and personal protective equipment requirements.
