About The Position

You will be the Production Hangar APG, F-16 Technician for the Lockheed Martin Greenville Production Team building F-16 Fighter Jets. This is an entry-level position where you will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and modifying aircraft systems and powerplants in accordance with established written procedures, specifications, and standards. You will need to be knowledgeable in aircraft systems operation and maintenance, including landing gear, powerplants, flight controls, rigging, and aircraft movement. The role requires the ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. You will frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft. You will also frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds. The job involves performing repetitive movements and working overhead. Maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area and properly using, handling, and disposing of hazardous materials and toxic or caustic chemicals per government regulations and company procedures are essential. Mission essential functions and other duties may be assigned as required. A clearance may be required if the work area performs classified work. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required as needed, and the employee is regularly exposed to vibration.

Requirements

  • 1 years of related aircraft production, overhaul, repair, or modification experience on various aircraft systems, Aviation training, or related hands on mechanical experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using mechanics' hand tools effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling and modifying aircraft systems and powerplants in accordance with established written procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Being knowledgeable in aircraft systems operation and maintenance to include: Landing gear, Powerplants, Flight controls, Rigging, Aircraft movement.
  • Comprehending documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Using hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, twisting, and working on or in the aircraft.
  • Frequently lifting and/or pushing or pulling up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Performing repetitive movements and working overhead.
  • Working in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
  • Properly using, handling and disposing of hazardous materials, and toxic or caustic chemicals per Government regulations and company procedures.
  • Obtaining a clearance as necessary if work area performs classified work.
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks.
  • Working with exposure to vibration.
