The F-16 Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for aircraft recovery, parking, safing, and preparing for depot induction and delivery; safe towing operations; aircraft post-flight and preflight inspections, aircraft refueling, engine run, launch, and recovery operations; assisting other team members in aircraft structural and avionic/electrical modifications, upgrades, and repairs; Performing aircraft maintenance, including, but not limited to, aircraft servicing, repair, inspection; status reporting, technical, and logistical support. The role involves reading and interpreting technical orders, manuals, blueprints, and other documentation to perform F-16 related maintenance tasks, including special certification and qualification tasks such as engine runs, servicing, and aircraft towing. Responsibilities also include completing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ordering parts, performing routine duties within the first echelon of aircraft supervision (servicing, component replacement), troubleshooting and repairing aircraft structures and components, rigging and calibrating flight controls, determining airworthiness, and interacting with the Maintenance Operation Center (MOC), customers, and program representatives regarding aircraft status.
