About The Position

You will be the Sustainment APG, F-16 Mechanic Level 2- first Shift for the Lockheed Martin Greenville Sustainment Team. As the Sustainment APG, F-16 Mechanic Level 2 you will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling and modifying aircraft systems and powerplants in accordance with established written procedures, specifications, and standards. The Sustainment APG, F-16 Mechanic Level 2 will also need to be knowledgeable in aircraft systems operation and maintenance to include: Landing gear, Powerplants, Flight controls, Rigging, and Aircraft movement. The candidate will be required to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. The employee is regularly exposed to vibration. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks. Mission essential functions and other duties may be assigned as required. May be required to obtain a clearance as necessary if work area performs classified work.

Requirements

  • 3 to 8 years of experience on fighter aircraft, or other military aircraft on various aircraft systems operation to include landing gear, flight controls, disassembly, re-assembly, rigging, powerplant, aircraft ground operations and the flight line environment.
  • High school education or equivalent (GED)
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift.

Nice To Haves

  • F-16 Crew Chief Experience
  • USAF level 5 or higher
  • Heavy Aircraft Mod or Depot Experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling and modifying aircraft systems and powerplants in accordance with established written procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Be knowledgeable in aircraft systems operation and maintenance to include: Landing gear, Powerplants, Flight controls, Rigging, Aircraft movement.
  • Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.
  • Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive movements and work overhead.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
  • Properly use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials, and toxic or caustic chemicals per Government regulations and company procedures.
