About The Position
OmniSource is seeking a dependable, hardworking Production Employee for a fast-paced, hands-on role supporting manufacturing operations. The employee will help maintain plant operations by picking and sorting metals, operating mobile equipment, and cleaning and maintaining the yard. They will work with team members and supervisors to meet production goals, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and keep operations running efficiently. The role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety.
Requirements
- Understand and adhere to safety regulations.
- Be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Be able to stand and work for long periods.
- Be able to repetitively lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
- Be a self-motivated team player who is willing and eager to learn new skills.
Responsibilities
- Sort scrap on the picking line to upgrade it and remove nonconforming items.
- Clean spillage from conveyors using mobile equipment and hand tools.
- Maintain mobile and fixed equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
