About The Position

Schweid & Sons is a family-owned, four-generation premium ground beef company serving retail, foodservice, and national account customers across the United States. The Production Employee verifies and packages products to meet customer requirements and departmental performance goals. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this union role performs packing, product verification, material handling, and related production duties as assigned. The position requires a strong work ethic, responsibility, energy, and safe work practices in a refrigerated production environment.

Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and frequently bend, stoop, squat, push, and pull parts or containers.
Ability to work in a refrigerated environment of up to 36 degrees.
Strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and a hardworking, energetic approach.

Nice To Haves

Experience performing packing, manual lifting, or related production duties.
Experience moving products or inventory using a hand jack.

Responsibilities

Inspect packages and identify defective packaging.
Perform production duties, including packing and manual lifting.
Verify that products are sealed, display the correct Smart Date label, and are packaged correctly.
Stack boxes on pallets according to size, weight, and fragility.
Stretch-wrap pallets securely to protect product integrity.
Move products and inventory using a hand jack.
Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Supervisor.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Perform related duties as required by supervision and move to other lines as workload requires.
Comply with company and federal policies, procedures, and regulations.
Work toward achieving departmental KPIs.
