About The Position

Barnstorm is an Emmy and VES-nominated visual effects studio based in Los Angeles, with operations in Vancouver, Montreal, Atlanta, New York City, and the UK. We create photo-realistic visual effects for a wide range of episodic productions and select feature film sequences. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the VFX or film production industry.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with ShotGrid (Flow), including setting up, updating, and maintaining projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Workspace.
  • Demonstrated experience managing VFX projects, with the ability to solve problems effectively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, artists, producers, and other stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of technical production workflows, including directory structures, file formats, naming conventions, scripting, and automation tools.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and implement feedback from supervisors and clients.
  • Thorough understanding of television and episodic VFX production pipelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Feature film experience is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D VFX software packages is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, prioritize, and track internal technical assignments and project details.
  • Organize dailies, rounds, and project meetings, including preparing meeting rooms and media.
  • Maintain daily ShotGrid (Flow) project statuses, task assignments, and project scope.
  • Coordinate and package shot deliveries, including all required submission documentation.
  • Ensure team members are aligned on daily deliverables, manage calendars, and record notes from clients, dailies, and rounds.
  • Communicate project updates and ensure priorities are clearly understood.
  • Coordinate and monitor multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare documentation and reports while tracking and managing project tasks.
  • Communicate schedule changes to the appropriate stakeholders and escalate issues to Supervisors and Producers when necessary.
  • Follow up on approved and completed work to ensure deliveries are completed on time and meet project specifications.
  • Support quality control processes and project closeout procedures.
