The main role of the Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator is to lead the execution of maintenance so that all cement plant equipment is maintained in the most reliable and efficient manner possible and to coordinate mechanical maintenance activities with all other departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred field of study: Mechanical Engineering).
  • Extensive experience in heavy equipment repair, maintenance work execution, and maintenance team coordination.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite, experience with a computerized mechanical maintenance system.
  • Bilingualism, French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of English is required as the position holder must regularly communicate with clients, suppliers of goods and/or services, or team members or support functions outside of Quebec.
  • Proven leadership and managerial courage.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with cement plant personnel.
  • High motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to achieving organizational and personal goals.
  • Recognized ability to work in a collaborative environment (colleagues, suppliers, etc.).
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and the appropriate use of personal protective equipment approved by Amrize (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities

  • Follow health and safety policies and procedures and ensure their application. Ensure that all contracts and sites meet Lafarge's safety policy requirements for the safety of our employees.
  • Coordinate, ensure the execution of maintenance, and support all activities related to the execution of daily, weekly, monthly mechanical maintenance and during planned equipment shutdowns.
  • Review mechanical maintenance requirements daily with production and adjust needs based on these requirements.
  • Analyze maintenance performance and provide direction for improvement. Manage and improve execution schedule compliance.
  • Assist in budget establishment for the development and execution of the annual mechanical budget by following departmental objectives.
  • Provide the maintenance director with weekly reports on mechanical maintenance costs for overtime, subcontractors, and parts.
  • Provide continuous reports and monitoring of maintenance expenses during major work and recommend corrective actions to meet the department budget.
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks comply with regulations and company policies.
