About The Position

ABC10 in Sacramento, California is seeking a meticulous and technically skilled Production Coordinator to ensure the seamless, high-quality execution of our visual storytelling across streaming and broadcast platforms. At ABC10, you'll be a key, hands-on operator, working closely with the Production Lead to maintain efficient and high-quality daily productions for news and sales content. We're looking for a reliable team member who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced news environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training in broadcasting, media production, or a related field preferred.
  • At least three years of hands-on television broadcast or live production (both linear and digital) experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and proficiency in operating production control room equipment.
  • Hands-on expertise with news production tools, vMix, audio mixers, studio lighting, teleprompter systems, and studio cameras.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately under time pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating technical cues in high-pressure, live situations.
  • Ability to maintain composure and adaptability during breaking news and high-stakes events.
  • Commitment to teamwork and technical excellence.
  • Quick reaction skills for error correction during live broadcasts.
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operation, including various shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical liaison for news production and operations, including engineering and technology team, to ensure seamless daily broadcasts, and assign tasks related to production and operations.
  • Will take ownership of creating visually compelling content ensuring among other things visual angles, lighting and set arrangements.
  • Setup, position, and maintain studio as needed based on direction from the Production Lead or supervisors.
  • Collaborate with engineering to optimize streaming systems, control room equipment and innovative systems for production needs.
  • Assist the Production Lead in organizing and preparing technical elements for special events and breaking news coverage.
  • Support the implementation of standard operating procedures to maintain workflow efficiency and broadcast quality.
  • Maintain effective technical communication with the newsroom and engineering departments to ensure systems are operational.
  • Commit to continuous, high-quality technical support for live coverage of breaking news and community events.
