About The Position

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, the Production Cook prepares and cooks a variety of foods in quantity for meal service and performs cold food production duties for patients, the cafeteria, and the deli station. The role is in CVPH Nutrition at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, New York. It is a regular, full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week (80 biweekly hours). The primary shift is 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.; secondary shifts are 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Weekend work is required every other weekend. This is a bargaining union position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two to three years of experience in quantity food preparation and short-order cooking.
• Working knowledge of federal and state regulatory standards for safety and sanitation.
• Ability to use food production equipment and knowledge of cooking methods and procedures.

Nice To Haves
