About The Position

The Cook prepares food for patients, customers, employees, visitors, and catered events consistently and efficiently, following food production standards and food safety procedures. The role includes preparing and serving food, cleaning and sanitizing dishware and equipment, helping oversee kitchen and facility operations, maintaining inventory, and communicating departmental needs. The position also supports training personnel and ensuring dietary needs and quality standards are met.

Requirements

Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM), or TEAM-A certification is required.

Nice To Haves

High school education/GED or equivalent.
Associate’s/technical degree in culinary arts or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
SERV Safe certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Prepare, season, and cook food for facility patients, employees, and visitors.
Display and serve food to customers and prepare and serve items for catered events.
Ensure dietary needs are met.
Review menus and work orders to determine the types and quantities of food to prepare.
Plan cooking schedules so food is ready at specified times.
Maintain sanitary work stations and inventory levels.
Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
Ensure food meets standards for taste, appearance, ingredients, and sanitation.
Clean, dishwash, and sanitize dishware and equipment.
Assist in overseeing kitchen and facility operations and communicate needs to the department head.
Attend and assist in training personnel.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
