About The Position
The Production Associate works in the tempering oven production area at Trulite’s Knoxville facility. The role involves moving and transporting glass and other materials, attaching labels and tags, inspecting product quality, operating or manually maneuvering equipment, and supporting efficient product flow. Associates rotate among production functions and are expected to maintain a safe, clean work area and attend work regularly and predictably. The position is listed for a second shift, with hours of 3:30 p.m. to midnight. The job description also refers to these as day-shift hours. Pay is $18 per hour, with a $1.25 shift premium. Quarterly safety bonus and monthly performance incentive opportunities are available. Benefits begin on the first day.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds independently.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure.
- Flexible work availability; the schedule is typically Monday through Friday with occasional weekends.
- Regular and predictable attendance, safe task performance, and adherence to safety policies and procedures are essential.
Nice To Haves
- One year of previous work experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production facility is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Overhead crane experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Move glass from tables, furnaces, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for eight or more hours daily.
- Transport materials, including glass, between positions or locations to expedite production.
- Read and attach appropriate labels and tags to products.
- Inspect product quality and operate equipment or manually maneuver equipment as needed.
- Understand the facility layout to support proper product flow.
- Perform different job functions on a rotating basis and be available to work in all production areas.
- Inspect products for abnormalities and immediately notify a supervisor of issues, including fabrication issues or logo placement.
- Use a tape measure to ensure products meet specifications.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Attend work regularly and predictably and follow safety policies and procedures.
