About The Position

The Production Assembler uses hand and power tools and fixtures to assemble fire extinguisher parts and pack products according to specifications. The position regularly works from 4:30 P.M. to 3:00 A.M., Monday through Thursday, with mandatory overtime on Fridays. Second shift receives a $0.80 per hour shift differential. The assembler may train and rotate through department workstations and work in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a post-offer drug test, background check, and fitness review.
• Demonstrate high attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Be able to work in seasonal high temperatures and humidity in a conditioned-air environment.
• Frequently lift materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to stand, walk, and perform light physical labor continuously for periods of up to three hours.
• Frequently bend, stoop, push, reach, stand, walk, and climb ladders during the shift.
• Have close, distance, and color vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally sit, climb, and balance.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
• Clean and maintain the work area and equipment, including tools.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company work and safety rules, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Lift and carry materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Precisely assemble parts and assemblies on a fast-paced production line.
• Follow blueprints, work instructions, EHS and job procedures, JSA’s, and applicable paperwork.
• Train, work, and rotate through all department workstations and work in other departments as needed.
