Production Associate - Truss Assembly - 2nd shift

About The Position

BlueScope is hiring a Production Associate to assist with manufacturing and truss assembly. The role involves loading and unloading material from machines, conveyors, and mobile equipment; supplying or holding materials and tools; assembling materials; inspecting and wrapping products; and stacking and banding materials or products. Candidates with production experience and those eager to learn are welcome. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with some overtime required. Pay is $20.61 per hour plus a $2.00-per-hour shift differential. BlueScope describes the position as hands-on and team-oriented, with an emphasis on quality, safety, organization, and continuous improvement. Training and opportunities for professional development are offered. Associates may also be assigned other duties, and additional competencies, goals, and performance measures may be set at the department level.

Responsibilities

Load and unload materials from machines and conveyors.
Assemble materials using a torque gun and assist with placing products on equipment or work surfaces.
Supply or hold materials and tools as needed.
Use measuring tools and processes to inspect materials before, during, and after production to ensure they meet specifications.
Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
Support housekeeping and organizational standards, including 5-S practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
