About The Position

The Production & Assembly Supervisor is responsible for supporting and coordinating shop-floor production from the point of materials being received through production, scheduling maintenance, quality and safety, final assembly, and shipment. This position maintains schedule standards, supports continuous improvement, and enforces company policies in accordance with the company handbook.

Requirements

  • High School Education required.
  • Prior supervisory experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, or operations environment required.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Systems required.
  • Ability to read drawings, engineering notices, production schedules, work orders, and related manufacturing documentation.
  • Ability to use all required hand tools, inspection gauges, hydraulic presses, air tools, and standard shop-floor equipment as applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Tech School, associate’s degree preferred.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 knowledge preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement knowledge is preferred.
  • Previous participation or knowledge in Kaizen Events is preferred.
  • Inventory control, production scheduling, finished goods, and shipment readiness knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate parts, materials, and components required for assembly and production work orders.
  • Coordinate the movement of parts and materials throughout receiving inventory, production, assembly, and shipment readiness areas.
  • Maintain assembly line and production processes, ensuring work areas are balanced, staffed appropriately, and operating safely and efficiently.
  • Assure the quality of manufactured parts and assembled products and provide feedback to operators and employees when corrections are needed.
  • Resolve manufacturing downtime, assembly downtime, staffing concerns, material shortages, quality infractions, and workflow problems that occur in both departments on the shop floor.
  • Enter or communicate schedule changes in ADP and D365 and production priority updates as needed to support shop-floor execution.
  • Train all employees in standard work, safety practices, quality expectations, and production requirements.
  • Manage staff members regarding attendance, disciplinary, safety, quality, productivity, and performance-related issues in accordance with company policy and management direction.
  • Monitor and enforce safety practices, housekeeping expectations, ISO 9001 Quality procedures, and required production and assembly standards.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement events, lean activities, time studies, process reviews, and manufacturing site transformation initiatives.
  • Perform all other job-related responsibilities and other duties as assigned by Management.
